About us

People for Animals Haryana campaigns for Animal Rights & Welfare. It spearheads a popular movement for respecting all life on this earth and is a small but crucial part of India's growing environmental awareness. Started in 1999 in Haryana by Sh. Naresh Kadyan the then Duty Magistrate Prohibition-cum-District Khadi Village & Village Industry Officer, Faridabad.

People for Animals (PFA) Haryana is Registered NGO, which is recognized by the Animal Welfare Board of India. PFA Haryana is also associated with the Royal Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, London, England.

Objectives

To improve the economic, moral and social, standards of man kind & protection of animals in the area of operation of the Institution & to publish news paper, magazine, periodicals & documentary films etc.
To eliminate poverty and bring about better living conditions, mutual cooperation and unity among the villagers and in general urban rural development by implementing welfare schemes.
To Campaign for the ethical treatment of animals, To promote vegetarianism, To stop the export of meat, To shut down abattoirs like Al Kabeer, To set up animal hospitals and shelters, To stop the killing of stray animals, To preserve wildlife in its natural habitat. To demand animal welfare measures, To ban the misuse of animals in movies, To campaign for proper animal rights laws. To create shelters for stray animals, To rescue performing animals. To make animals rights education compulsory. To close down animal markets, To stop the testing of drugs and cosmetics on animals, To stop interstate traffic in cattle, To ban the export of rhesus monkeys for testing, To close down the trade in furs and minks, To ensure a nationwide ban on cattle slaughter, To protect, endangered species, To stop wild game hunting. To close down illegal private zoos, To resist the entry of junk food killer MNCs. To find new homes for abandoned pets, To network with animal organisations worldwide, To educate people to give up ritual animal sacrifice. To reveal the link between cancer and eating meat, To stop the dissection of animals in schools, and To institute awards for animal rights campaigners
To create spiritual awakening and uplift of the national character, To restore maintenance of culture, social values and cultural heritage of India specially vedic administration & ideology.
To preach and spread knowledge of Yoga, Naturecure etc. by vocal, oral, publication, seminars, exhibitions or any other mode.
To develop Institutions for the aged, widows, disabled and handicapped children and others and to provide education, food and clothing to them.
To work for checking and restraints on cruelty to animals, protection to wild animals and for this purpose to establish veterinary hospital, Goshala, animal shelters and research centers etc.
To establish, run and maintain Ayurvedic, Yunani, Homeopathy, Allopathy, Naturopathy and Yogic research and care centers, hospitals or any other institution with in house facilities with a view to use the best of the knowledge available in all fields of medical science for improvement of general health and longevity of human race.
To explore and develop education-training & employment opportunities for the down trodden weaker sections of the Society.
To work for spread of education, and for this purpose to develop run & maintain schools, vidyapeeth, gurukul, pathshala and such other institution as may be required or developed.
To establish scientific research Institutions within the meaning of s. 10(12) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
To establish institutions solely for Educational purposes within the meaning of S.10(22) of the Income Tax Act, 1961.
To develop health resorts, health clubs, physical fitness facilities, gymnasium and other activities for building a strong mind and body of human race.
To encourage handicrafts, music and dance, khadi &. village Industries and any other ideology for development.
To donate to similar institutions having similar objects.
To establish hospitals or other institutions for the reception and treatment of
persons suffering from illness or mental defectiveness or for the reception
and treatment of persons during convalescence or of persons requiring medical attention or rehabilitation, solely for philanthropic purposes and not for purposes of profit, within the meaning of S.10 (22A) of the Income Tax Act 1961.
To establish institutions in India having its object, control, supervision, regulation or encouragement in India of such games or sports as may be approved by the Central/State Government within the meaning of S. 10(23)
of the Income Tax Act, 1961
To seek registration with Central Government, any State Government and/or Tax Authorities for seeking Tax benefits and exemptions not only to the trust but also to those who donate, subscribe or contribute to the trust fund, income or any specific trust activity in any manner.
To achieve the above objectives, to develop and maintain contacts with National and International organizations, Central and State Governments and generally to do anything ancillary or incidental-to the main objects.
To develop and manage projects in any sphere for the benefit of the minority/ backward classes i.e. SC/ST, Ex-Serviceman, Physical handicapped also for Animal Welfare.

To Protect
The purpose of PFA is to act as a strong network of compassionate, committed and courageous people who will protect animals against cruelty and work to bring about a change in attitudes, laws and lifestyles towards improving conditions for animals around India.

Create Infrastructure
Upgrade and establish facilities for animal rescue and rehabilitation such as Shelters, Ambulances, Mobile Clinics and Helplines alongwith proper implementation of prevention to Cruelty to Animals Act 1960 & Wild Life Protection Act 1972 with up-to-date amendments by the Central & respective State Governments.

Influence Policy
Act as a pressure group to bring about environment and animal-friendly legislation.

Ensure Implementation

Become part of official regulatory agencies to check and report violations.
Take direct action through units to protect animals and punish offenders.
Educate and Sensitize

Conduct a School Contact Programmeme. Introduce animal welfare either as a school or extra-curricular activity.
Promote and produce Media (Radio, Television, Print, Internet) Programmemes on animal related issues.
Conduct training workshops for lawyers, police, vets and animal owners.
Produce books and expert guides on animal care and related issues.
Partner with influential community leaders and opinion makers.
Advance the Movement

Liaise with animal welfare groups both nationally and internationally.
Support financially or otherwise deserving animal welfare initiatives.
Provide career opportunities in animal welfare.
Promote Vegetarianism

Educate on health, environment and economic costs of animal-based choices.
Source and promote animal-free alternatives.
Enroll celebrity spokespersons to popularise cruelty-free choices.
Achieve Financial Stability
Diversify fundraising from event-based strategy to other avenues.
Forge strategic corporate partnerships.
