Example letter:

Dog meat trade in the Philippines

Dear Ambassadors of the Philippines ,
I am writing to you to express my strong concerns about the dog meat trade in the Philippines. I commend your government for instituting national legislation banning the dog meat trade, but I understand that stronger laws and increased enforcement are needed to put a final end to this cruel practice.
I was horrified to learn from Global Action Network that dogs destined for slaughter in Baguio are transported under such appalling conditions that up to 50% of them die en-route, while the survivors have their throats cut while still conscious.
I urge you to do all within your power to encourage your government to further its efforts to eliminate the dog meat trade completely. As a compassionate traveller, I choose tourism destinations that are committed to treating animals humanely. Only when the dog meat trade has been ended, will I consider travelling to the Philippines.
Yours Sincerely,

This frightened little dog was once a loved family pet... full of life... full of trust.
Now he lies helpless and forgotten under the hot sun... the ragged tin can biting his soft face. He's in pain and he's alone.

What if these little dogs were pets that you know or care for?
Instead of being stroked or petted, they've been treated like pieces of rubbish... left thirsty and hungry, they can do nothing except wait for this cruel ordeal to be brought to its sad end.

The dogs' legs are twisted up behind their backs and tightly bound so they can't move.
The dogs can be kept in this tortured position - without any food or water - for several days.
They can't pant to cool themselves down... they can't bark for help.

Bound and helpless, the dogs are eventually thrown into small rice sacks and flung on top of trucks or stowed out of sight until they're taken to the slaughterhouses.

They're slammed into cramped holding cages for the journey, which can take up to eight hours.
Once in the cages they fight with other dogs and can suffer serious injuries.

Finally, after suffering days of abuse, the dogs are dragged from their cages whimpering with fear... their throats are then cut... and they are left to slowly bleed to death.

This dreadful cruelty is happening NOW. It's happening as you view this website.
But
Network for Animals will not give up until it is finally stopped.
We will not let thousands more innocent dogs suffer as they are suffering here.
With your support today, we can put an end to this pain and suffering!
