CAMPAIGN AGAINST RODEOS

Cologne, one of the venues of the Soccer World Championship, will have cruel rodeos once the soccer fans have left.
On July 29 and 30, rodeos will take place on the race track in Cologne-Weidenpesch( www.rodeo-koeln.de ). The organizers sent out information that in calf roping the calves will be wrestled to the ground and their legs will be tied up. This has never been done in German rodeos until now.
Furthermore, like in Spanish beneficial bullfights, the proceeds from the raffle will go to a good cause, in this case a horse rescue organization (Kölner Schutzhof für Pferde).

I consider rodeo as cruelty to animals. It gives children a very bad example on how to treat animals and should not take place in Cologne. The town's reputation will be severely damaged and tourism will be affected negatively.
