But our December 15th protest at the Denver Capitol at 11:45 am is the critical first step.

Fellow RMAD members,

What if December 15th was the last day you could attend a protest without fear of being branded - or even arrested as - a terrorist? Now that Congress has passed the Animal Enterprise Terrorism Act, such a fear could become reality. Animal merchants are already eagerly rubbing their hands together, hoping the ominously vague wording of this new law will be interpreted in their favor. And we're fooling ourselves if we don't believe it will be.

On December 15th, you can publicly voice your opposition.

What's so special about this date?

National Bill of Rights Day falls on December 15th. And on this day, Rocky Mountain Animal Defense and the Rocky Mountain Peace and Justice Center are co-sponsoring a rally to defend these rights, on the West Steps of the Denver Capitol, from 11:45 am to 1 pm.

Won't you join your fellow animal rights activists at this important event? Because folks, two critical things are at stake here: Continued progress for humane treatment of animals, and our fundamental rights as American citizens to free speech. Stop by on your lunch hour to amplify our voice on this important day. Better yet, extend your lunch hour just an extra bit, and join us for the entire hour and fifteen minutes.

As RMAD's representative for our efforts to overturn this unconstitutional law, I can assure you this is just the beginning of our work to have this law rescinded. Simply put, we're going to need to do a lot to keep the pressure on the legislators who sold their fellow Americans out when they allowed this law to be passed by voting "yes" for it or not even bothering to show up for the vote.

But our December 15th protest at the Denver Capitol at 11:45 am is the critical first step.

I hope I'll see you there. Please email me at sjanard@msn.com if you plan on attending, and I will send you directions to the exact spot at the Capitol we'll be meeting at.

Sincerely, Stephanie
