interview and all video
clips at the time of the poison being given out in Chios
yesterday but they didnt air it....
I do not understand why, maybe they like so many greek people think
that this is not important..
Im also going to being sending the pictures out later today, so ill

Dear Friends,
I would just like to take this oppotunity to thank each and
everyone of you for your support against the poison in Chios being
giving today.. I am afraid that at 10am today: Myself,
Pepi Bouse and film crew from Antenna, Alpha, Sky-one and Alithia
was at the factory of Kampos, Chios, and watched in pure horror
as hundreds of local people in Chios received there free
poison from the mayor of chios and his municipality..
No questions were asked to where the receiving person lived, or
there plan for the poison, it was all to easy to receive..
People were given bags full of round blue poison and left without a
care in the world...
So it has been proven that Dr. Broulis has not taken abit of notice
of our pleas and i cant express my sadness anymore and i really am
scared to what will happen in the next few days, how many victims
will suffer to this poison, how many bodies will myself and our
small charity find? The whole poison story will be aired tonight at
8pm news channels Antenna and Alpha, and i even believe that the
Mayor of Chios will speak too....
Does anyone know where I go from here, any ideas, please send on to
me or call me..
Again if you can send your mails to the Mayor and also the Alithia
newspaper in Chios...

Dear Friends,
It has just become known to me that on Tuesday 9Th October poison
is being given free to all people in Chios from the Chios
Municipality... The mayor Dr.Petros.Broulis has announced on local
television and also the local newspapers in Chios that he is giving
this poison free.. Now it is for sure this poison will kill off
thousands of stray, owned cats and dogs in Chios and is completely
wrong and cruel and i really need some help to stop him doing this,
so please i ask of you to write to the mayor and sign, because this
is a urgent situation in Chios and thousands of animals will die
and suffer in pain....

In this age of internet communication, news spreads fast ... good
and bad!! It will therefore not surprise you to hear that the news
about your proposed 'distribution of free poison' on Tuesday, 9
October, is crossing borders far and wide. It goes without saying
that most of those who consider themselves civilised human beings,
are absolutely appalled by your incredulous decision. Are you not
aware that you would be breaking the laws of your country to hand
out to people poison as if it were confetti??? It is clear that the
poison would kill not only rats (who exist only because of the
humans' discarded waste and poor hygiene), but countless dogs,
cats, birds etc. It is also possible that an innocent child could
accidentally eat some poisonous bait ... what would you tell the
child's parents?? How absurd and misguided your thinking must be to
come up with such a barbaric and idiotic plan!! And the people of
Chios actually voted you into the office??? Incredible!!
I'm sorry the tone of this email is rather sharp, but can you
expect any lesser reaction to your announcement??
I await the news that you have abandoned your 'extermination plan'
and that you will in fact announce this on the TV and to the
press.

Dear Mr Broulis,
Action Against
Poisoning fights animal poisoning as we have witnessed many cases
of slow and cruel poison deaths. For this reason alone we are
totally opposed to the use of poisons against abandoned and stray
animals. We like to point out to you - as mayor - that the
stray problem is caused by irresponsible citizens dumping
hunting dogs and domestic animals. This problem is also caused by
authorities who do nothing to prevent the creation of
this "live waste" flow, giving rock bottom priority to animal
protection law enforcement or animal welfare policies, if
any.
Sometimes poisoning
happens accidentally by ignorance. In most cases it involves
deliberate cruelty towards stray animals or domestic
animals of neighbours.
In fact - like guns -
poisons are very powerful and dangerous instruments of destruction,
especially in the hands of ignorant and evil persons. To avoid
abuse and accidents we advocate the use of colors and smells
that make poisons repulsive for consumption by people as well
as animals.
We
are informed that you plan to distribute poison in Chios amongst
your citizens to kill stray animals. Poison has never proven to be
an adequate, let alone civilized solution to a stray animal
problem. On the contrary, the destructive effect of a controlled
action is random and unpredictable. We can only predict that the
free distribution of poison amongst citizens will lead
to horrible incidents.
Besides the fact that
you probably violate existing animal protection laws,
you evoke a large scale abuse of poison by people with
undesirable wishes to kill animals or people for different
reasons.
So we urge you to
stop the execution of this unhealthy solution
immediately.
