In
November, The Donkey Sanctuary and our Spanish subsidiary, El
Refugio del Burrito, were outraged to learn that a donkey had been
used in a Spanish bullfight the previous month in the town of
Navaluenga to the west of Madrid.
We also discovered a similar event had taken place in the nearby
town of Burgohondo a few days later.
Since then, we have been preparing a legal case to try to stop
donkeys being used in the bullfights later this year.
To help us in our campaign, we have produced the following petition
letter and we hope you will join in our efforts.
Please send a copy of this letter, via post or email, to each of
the town mayors in Navaluenga and Burgohondo:

Since 1969 we have taken over 12,000 donkeys into our care in the
UK and Ireland. We also have core overseas projects in Egypt,
Ethiopia, India, Kenya and Mexico - bringing urgent veterinary
assistance to working donkeys in distress. Further projects exist
in Europe where many more donkeys need our help.
