URGENT!
Dear Ms Borremans
The Rescue of Cats on the Olympic Site
Thank you for your email in regard to the rescuing of feral cats at
the Olympic Site. As Senior Policy Officer for Animal Protection I
have been asked to reply.
I have been in communication with the Olympic Delivery Authority
over this matter. The ODA have informed me that they have
instructed their contractors to keep a watching brief and survey
any buildings for feral cats before demolition. Should any evidence
of feral cats especially kittens, lactating or pregnant cats be
identified in an area designated for demolition, then I understand
that the Celia Hammond Animal Trust will be contacted immediately
so the cats can be removed. To date the Trust have captured 147
cats.
Any legally protected species found on the site are being carefully
relocated to appropriate locations. Large numbers of common
amphibians and reptiles have also been relocated despite there
being no legal obligation to do so.
I hope this alleviates some of your concerns as outlined in your
email.
Yours sincerely,
Sally Hamilton
Senior Policy Officer - Animal Protection.

Honourable Officials, Gentlemen,
Ladies,
Mary
Alice Pollard, Cornwall's Voice for Animals/UK and on behalf of our
over 4000 supporters world wide, endorse the letters written
below.
I have
spent the majority of my adult life on hands and knees trapping
feral cats ( and dogs ) for the spay/neuter and release programs in
several countries around this globe, including Africa ! It is a
program which works and it is the only humane and acceptable
program which deals with the stray
population !
Obviously we are not asking that
the cats be released back, but we do ask for more time to be
given in order to rescue all the cats from the site area.
Greece had a massive poisoning of dogs in order to ' clean up ' the
streets before the Olympic games there, it was a horrific and
cruel scheme which brought Global shame to their name ( and my
country of birth ), and China is now doing the same ( not that they
need yet another reason for the world to shout out against the
cruelty inflicted on the people and animals of China
)
Let us
show to the world that we are a compassionate and that no matter
what - saving lives, no
matter what kind, COMES FIRST !
Please support Mrs.
Cecilia Hammond in her efforts to rescue the hundreds of
stray cats that remain at the site of the 2012 Olympic
Village.
I look forward to your positive
reply,
Most
Urgently and Sincerely,
Mary

Honorable Officials, Gentlemen,
Ladies,
Word has
traveled the globe about the prohibition placed upon Mrs. Cecilia
Hammond to prevent her from rescuing hundreds of stray cats that
remain at the site of the 2012 Olympic Village. As you can
imagine, concerned citizens, animals lovers and ordinary people,
everywhere are shocked and appalled that such orders would be
given, with the knowledge that this could very well mean the
needless suffering and death of so many innocent
animals.
I urge
you to use your influence and position as Mayor of London to
intervene immediately in order to find a positive solution to this
situation. I look forward to your reply and thank you in
advance for a civilized and appropriate response to this
crisis.
Sincerely,

Dear Mr.
Ken Livingstone, Mayor of London,
I fully
endorse the letter below and beg you
to intervene immediately. We are
not barbarians, are we?
Save
the cats, and do help Mrs. CECILA HAMMOND with her rescue
work!
The
starvation and the killing of these animals would be unforgivable
and would create a big scandal all over the
world
Awaiting
your early good news and thanking you in
advance,
Yours
sincerely

Dear
Sirs,
I have
been informed that Celia Hammond is facing boycots from the
authorities on the Olympic site. Celia Hammond is the woman who
tries to save the life of hundreds of homeless
cats.
Ms
hammond asked for an extension of time, which was granted for just
a couple of weeks. Celia and her helpers have spent every
night out trapping the cats. To date she has rescued over 150
cats.
Now
it seems that the Olympic Delivery Authority has forbidden to
enter the olymic site which means that the remaining hundreds of
cats will have to face a terrible death.
I
sincerely hope you will use your influence to help to lift up the
ban. As a matter of fact it is our moral duty to help
innocent creatures!!
It is
unacceptable that the Olympic village of 2012 will be built on the
dead bodies of hundreds of animals!!
Please
keep me informed on this matter.
Sincerely,
